Border Field State Park is home to much of the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, which is a wildlife habitat. Hiking, horseback riding and shore fishing are all popular activities here.
The San Diego Japanese Friendship Garden not only features displays characteristic of a traditional Japanese gardens but also seeks to promote education and understanding of the Japanese culture. The garden also features an Exhibit House and Tea Pavilion located on-site.
Botanical Building
Built for the 1915-16 Exposition, the Botanical Building has more than 2,100 permanent plants. Orchids, ferns and more plants can be seen inside the building.
Heritage Park San Diego
A joint venture between San Diego County and the Save Our Heritage Organization, Heritage Park is a 7.8-acre county park dedicated to preserving San Diego’s Victorian architecture. The park features seven historic structures including an 1896 nineteenth century vernacular style cottage and an 1889 Queen Anne style home.
